So I become sick, and then get better, and then I get back on the forum and then this obnoxious bickering about credibility and childish accusations?????? What the heck is going on here??? Ying created a fine post and an excellent discussion and then this comes out of it??
I\'m sorry to bring the news, but everyone has a right to an opinion. I\'m sure Captain Duffy has his reasons. He just happens to be a strong-willed man who is set on his opinion. For Pete\'s sake, the man has been through hell and back!!!!!!!!! I can understand his stance. I think Steve Cooper put it best, I mean, just look at what he has done. The man has respect for the German Navy, it\'s a fact.
Also, don\'t forget that not all human beings are compatible. Just because Captain Duffy and Hartegen didn\'t get along doesn\'t mean we can pass judgement on either of them. Maybe Captain Duffy went to see him again to give it a second chance. If you don\'t agree with him fine, but don\'t go and make personal attacks. I\'m not trying to pick sides here, but I do believe in respect and I\'m disappointed with some of the class presented here (As I\'m sure Gummi would be too). If Captain Duffy had a bad experience with Hartegen, then that is his right to post it and make others aware. Maybe Hartegen did have a grudge, who knows? Think about it, if someone was not nice to you, you would have had the same opinion!!!
With regard to respect, take a good look at Rainer\'s posts when he is dissatisfied with something or does not agree (sorry to put you on the spot again, but I respect your manners) . He puts it in a way which is still respectable but gets the point across. That is class!!!!!!
All I\'m trying to say here is to have a little respect, use a little empathy, and conduct manners in a civilized way.
I\'m not passing judgment on anyone here, I\'m just talking about the conduct on this forum as this is a forum about respect and history.
