<HTML>This is probably not what you are asking, but back in my Naval time, the term \"boxing the compass\" meant that when a ship was at sea, it would occasionally stop and start a routine that would turn the ship in circles. This procedure would correct the gyroschope compass and set the gyro and magnetic compasses to read the same. Hope this helps.</HTML>
