<HTML>I doubt I am the only person to notice that around 5 U-boat badges with diamonds have been sold on eBay. The records say that less than 30 were awarded (sorry, I don\'t know the exact number off the top of my head). Why then, would everybody be wanting to part with such a rare military decoration. Without a doubt some of the badges floating around are fakes, jewelers copies. It would be very easy to fake one of these badges so well for only a thousand or two and then turn around and sell the badges for a thousand+ what it cost to fake. If it is worth $15,000, why is he selling it on eBay and why not at a fancy auction house? Why is he selling the badge for anything less but $15,000? Such is life, my advice: Stay away from all German military decorations on eBay unless you are VERY familiar with the seller or know your subject extremely well.

The thing is, the diamonds totally do NOT form the Zwastika, so I\\\'m assuming it\\\'s a fake.

Hope to get more answers as this is quite a neat item.
