Dont touch anything with even a bargepole unless you are 100% certain. You need a real diamond expert/jeweller with you.
In the 1950\'s/60\'s genuine badges etc were fairly common in the UK but they probably all been collected and now the market only has fakes - unless they come from a genuine source like the owner - but why would the owner want to sell?
A comparison is the Victoria Cross - these are named and are identifiable and are normally only sold if the recipient was very very hard up or had died and it didnt mean much to his relatives. They dont come on the market ofter as only 1351 were awarded and the whereabouts of some of them are presently unknown
