<HTML>I don\'t collect decorations, all I personally collect are uniform patches from the Soviet Union (NOT modern Russia). My father and I together collect all sorts of militaria, german ordenance is something that we are starting to explore greatly since we found a seller who is trustworthy (how many times do you find a seller who will ship you the item before payment?). This fellow is the individual who put the U-boat demolition timer on eBay. It is extremely easy to fake a decoration, with today\'s technology the fakes keeping getting harder and harder to spot. I\'ve noticed that there are certain questions to ask before purchasing something that might be a fake: The cost: If it is being sold for a small amount, why fake something for little profit? The photos: Quality close-ups of the item or crummy, fuzzy pictures, which would you trust? The seller: Do you know them, have you ever tracked their other auctions, their feedback? Your experience: Do you think it is fake, how big a loss would you take if it is a fake?
I know this sounds cheesy, but these questions seem to help me out when it comes to auction on eBay. </HTML>
