<HTML>Right, this is what I have from Jak Mallmann - from the English version of
The U-Boat Archive
\"It should be possible for me to be in the U-boat Archive for a couple of weeks towards the end of May - beginning of June 2001, to help members.
Cuxhaven is a couple of hours by train from Hamburg or Bremen airports and about 8-9 hours by car from Calais. The owner of Hotel Deutsches Haus is the chairman of FTU and will provide comfortable rooms. Cheaper \'private\' bed and breakfast type of accommodation can also be found in Altenbruch, if people intend to remain for a week or so. All this accommodation is within a few minutes walk from the Archive.
Altenbruch, incidentaly, is a small village about 10 minutes by car from Cuxhaven main line railway station.
Possible day-trips from Cuxhaven-Altenbruch:
* Kiel with U995, Naval Memorial, U-boat Memorial, Kiel Canal and other places of interest.
* Hamburg freeport with bunkers.
* Bremen and Bremerhaven with \'U-Wilhelm Bauer, two U-boat bunkers and a maritime museum.
* Wilhelmshaven with post-war U-boat and naval museum.
* Cuxhaven used to be an old minsweeper base and also has many pleases of interest worth exploring.
* You could even consider taking a boat trip to the Islands of Heligoland or/and to Neuwerk.
If you are interested in going to the U-Boat-Archiv and would like some further information, then please give me a ring.

Sorry I am not going to put Jak\'s home number on the net but, any seriously interested replies will get his number via email.
