Origin of \"Dora\"

<HTML>Does anybody know the origin of the name Dora which was used for many things in the Reich during the war? Examples: The \"Dora\" Uboat Bunkers in Trondheim, The \"Dora\" gun turret on the \'Tirpitz\', the Dora flak tower in Berlin and the Dora field artillery weapon used by the Wehrmacht.

At first I thought it might be a Nordic goddess, but can find no goddess by that name. Any ideas??????
