Thanks for bringing up the two stories again.
I am very surprised that the survivors were allowed one pint of water per man per day. Thats a lot of water when you don't know when you are going to be rescued and in frigid temperatures too. We only received 2 ounces each in the morning and again at night and that was in the Tropics.
A sea-anchor was standard equipment in British ships plus a can of oil to quieten the waves.
I do not remember pemmican being that bad and besides beggars are not choosers under those conditions, Eskimos used to eat it all the time and may still do.
Good on old Poon. I wonder what happened to him.
