<HTML>Hi Kalle, MPC, and Anders!
Finland had five submarines during World War Two, four of which were minelayers. All submarines were built in Finland to a German design.
There were three boats of the \'Vetehinen\' class. They were the \'Vetehinen\', the \'Vesihiisi\' and the \'Iko-Turso\'. Construction of these three boats took well over three years from laying down to launch due to the Finns lack of experience in submarine construction and no work being possible during the winter months. These boats were developed from the First War German Type UB 111 and predecessors of the Second War German Type V11.
In 1930 the Finns launched the \'Saukko\' which was a very small coastal submarine. The original use for this boat was as a minelayer in Lake Ladoga for which it could be dismantled in two, but in the event it was never used there.
The \'Vessiko\', launched in 1933, was another coastal submarine but larger than the \'Saukko\'. This boat was a predecessor of the German Type 11, and was the only Finnish submarine not to carry mines. The trials of this boat were carried out by an all German crew until 1936.

Hope this has been of help.
All the best!
