<HTML> Dear Sir, Thankyou for your reply to the forum topic. I agree, you have a very valid question that may be hard to find the answer to. Unfortunately the answer to the question of why the U-boat went out to sea and returned to eventually be sunk, lies at the bottom of the ocean now as well as the indentity of the U-boat described at the site. I am very pleased to hear that you intend to try and find the wreck. Maybe you'll find one of the "Missing U-Boats of World War 2" and will be able to identify her. That would be an impressive accomplishment.
Also, I have not read Clive Cusslers book "The Sea Hunters". If this book has any info with regard to the U-boat at this position, please fill me in.
I am going to start searching the web for any sonar images/reports, charts and diving center info on this wreck and will post any information I find about it on the forum. I encourage you to do the same if you intend on finding the exact position of the U-boat. A little prep work goes a long way. As the saying goes "Two heads are better than one". Again, thankyou for your reply and I look forward to hearing of your results. Sincerely, 1inCanada</HTML>
