I am a friend of the son - Stephen - from his (Franz Machon) marriage in 1951 (UK) where he resided until his death in 1968.
I have been researching on behalf of Stephen as to the exact details relating to his survival from U-516 and the subsequent time spent in USA until 1945.
At this time I am beginning to research his (Franz Machon) family whom Stephen meet in Poland in 1963.
Stephen has a lot of information and original documents from his fathers time during the time he spent aboard U-512 and further details up to his death in 1968.
