<HTML>For all my friends here, I will soon have a report of sorts of my trip to the U-Boot-Archiv in Altenbruch 13-28 Nov. It was stupendous!!! Some of the details may help others with plans to visit in the future...
In a nutshell:
1. visited Horst Bredow and all at the Archiv, did some research there, etc.
2. saw the Wilhelm Bauer in Bremerhaven
3. had a private visit with Erich Topp one Saturday afternoon
4. went thru the U-995 and Navy Memorial in Laboe (actually pronounced more like \"Labirr\", in German)
5. saw part of the U-boat Memorial in Moeltinort (just part of the tower and eagle from a short distance, as it was mostly all closed off to the public for some sort of re-furbishing until 1 Dec when it will re-open)
_________
However, this may be of interest to visitors of this forum! Mr. Topp and I talked some about the Uboat.net website and this forum in general....and although he is familiar with both, he said he has never been on the forum!? He isn\'t on the internet and doesn\'t use a computer. So if someone identified himself as Erich Topp here last summer (I never saw it myself), it had to have been an imposter...! I did not press these points further, as Mr. Topp seemed very clear to me on this. (Also, by the way, I had it on good advise just to address him as Mr. and not Captain or Admiral, etc.)
Best,
Craig
