MPC, et al:
I understand that Hitler had two other yachts. The "Ostwind" and the "Nordwind" designed by Heinrich Gruber, Ostwind was transported to America by the U.S. Navy as booty in 1947. It was finally sunk in 23 feet of water near an nanchorage for freighters entering the Port of Miami, FL.
The Nordwind, with identical pedigree, to this day sails under the name "White Rose" in Britain as a charter boat.
While stationed at the U.S. Naval Torpedo Station in Narragansett
Bay in Newport, RI from 1947 to 1950, I was told that Hitler's yacht was being used as a target for testing a new magnetic-influence exploder for torpedoes.
