On the matter of Bernhard Berndt an Uncle, my father and I did visit the grave in Hawkshead (after we had visited what was left of Grizedale Hall) back in the late 1950's. It was separate from all the other graves and was untidy and unkempt with just a wooden cross. I'm please to hear that he was moved to a proper resting place.
