The lifeboat baby mentioned here, Jesse Roper Mohorovic, was my Dad.What a joy it was for me to discover this web page and the stories. My Dad was truly an amazing man, very accomplished, bu more importantly very honest and generous in a quiet way. Funny, he was always attached to the sea, working as a life guard early in life, joining the Navy, then after moving to a small fishing town called Scituate with an older house with ocean views. I saw that someone asked about the birth certificate. I thought the place a birth says "Atlantic Ocean" and although I thought he had a typical looking bith cert, my Mom said that a page from the ship's log served as his birth certificate.
