<HTML>Hi Klaus-Peter,
Nice to see you here again on the forum!
I guess you¡¯re right about the Roehm incident which is one of the bloodiest before the war (MPC, I¡¯ll have to agree with Klaus-Peter this time ). It is said that the power of SA became so great and its leaders were so swollen with arrogance that dissatisfaction was aroused in the Wehrmacht. Weighing the importance of the Wehrmacht against that of the SA, Hitler finally made the decision as Wehrmacht was surely more important for his ambition and future endeavors.
It seems to me that many Nazi leaders (those of the early years as well as the later years) were sick in some way. We had this Roehm case and many controversial comments on Hitler. Moreover, Goebbels was notorious for his promiscuity, and it is said that Goering wore make-ups and was obsessed with jewelleries! I¡¯m really sad to see that such a gang of people ever managed to rule so many brilliant military officers.
Best regards,
Ying
