If you look closer at the AA guns, you will notice that these guns
have small holes along the side of the gun barrels, which was too
drain out sea-water very quickly when a U-boat surface.
The AA guns did not need caps put on the barrels of these guns,
because they were design that way for quick firing action.
Of course some maintenance was always needed to check that
these AA guns were always in peak condition during a patrol.
