There is a book called U-boat Far From Home by David Stevens about the U862 and its patrol into Australian waters in 1944-45 which gives some details on both u537 & u183. It provides some details in relation to the signal encryption which enabled the US submarine service to place their submarines in the path of the U-boats and to sink them. The book also gives details of Captain Stevens account of the sinking of the U537 with electric torpedoes fired from the stern tubes.
U-183 details are a bit more sketchy but it does give some details of radio encryption re positions and u183 mission to attack US forces in the Pacific and the rescue of u183 sole survivor, the navigator.
Tried to post this earlier so I hope I am not doubling up with this reply
