<HTML>Fin,
That\'s a very useful list you found, but it\'s not the \"ultimate\" list. For one thing, \"sunk\" and \"destroyed\" aren\'t very descriptive. (Most were mined.) Also note that the discription of UB 43 and UB 47 is misleading, they were transferred to Austria after serving with the German navy. Also, UB 8 was transferred to Bulgaria and UB 1 and UB 15 boats were transferred to Austria.
The fate on UC 79 is incorrect; she was mined during April 1918 (the wreck has even been discovered). The boat torpedoed by E-45 on October 11, 1917 was UB 62, the wreck of which has also been discovered.
On a more philosophical level, I don\'t think there can be an \"ultimate\" list of fates for WWI U-boats. New discoveries change our understanding of what happened; given that the majority of boats were lost in comparatively shallow waters, there is a very real chance that more wrecks will be discovered and identified. For example, the wrecks of both U 11 and U 37 have been discovered in recent years. In addition, the fates of several UB and UC boats have changed as a result of recent discoveries.
Another list by date of loss, though again does not capture all recent discoveries, can be found at [www.ukans.edu];
