Hello Jukka,

Wow! What a great question... Several years ago, I asked the French Embassy here in the U. S., if it was possible to get a piece of the U-Boat Bunker Concrete from the RAF bombing site. About a month later, I received a copy of an aerial photo of Brest taken in 1946, and a copy of a photo taken in 1944 when the U.S. Infantry Division (Blue & Gray) liberated the Brest U-Boat Pens.

In addition, I received a piece of concrete (about the size of a small fist) from the Brest bomb site. There are burn spots on the edge and a black pebble in the mix and very small black specks throughout the concrete.

Your question seems to have answered my questions about my World War II unusual souvenir.

Regards,
