There no issue as to which U-boat the Stonecrop engaged on September 17, 1917, That was U 151.
U 88 is a different matter. The presumption is that she was mined off the Dutch coast while outbound, but the wreck has, as far as I am aware, not been found to date. The fact that U 88 did not account for any ships‚ and Schwieger was a very aggressive commander, suggests that U 88 was lost before U 88 operated on her patrol station for an appreciable period of time.
