Trying to identify U-Boat capture photos

I am still trying to identify and date several b&w images of what appears to be the capture of a U-Boat. The are no notes on the photos. There are fair reasons they were shot in the North Atlantic, from a British vessel. Speculation, so far, is that the boat may be U-39 or U-606. 4-5 photos depict different views of what may be the same action. 3 photos show a ship's longboat being lowered from one destroyer and rowing to a second ship (type unknown). The most intriguing image is that of a longboat in the davits with a rather disgruntled gentleman standing in it. He is wearing a white cap, white sweater and life jacket. The hat and sweater are very similar to those I've seen on U-Boat captains. The life jacket has been said to be British, but I cannot confirm that.

The British destroyers identified, so far, in this series of photographs, are the Faulknor and H-88 Havelock. I am most interested in the Havelock and the U-Boat's identity. The only Havelock records I have found claim that the boats sunk, in the actions in which Havelock participated, did not surface and there was only one survivor from the lot. I will admit that the photos may be a mixture of different actions, although the processing and printing processes seem to be the same.

Can anyone shed light on this little mystery?
