Hi
One: as you suggested in the beginning, this thread should probably have been under the "Technology and Operations" sections.
Two: I've got answers; Not a German torpedo, and certainly not from U-36.
I contacted experts at the Haakonsvern navy base outside Bergen, and showed them the pictures. The contact detonator comes from a Swedish built TP612 torpedo. I don't know how many navies that used this torpedo type, but it was in use by the Norwegian Navy from 1972 to about 1988. (I may actually have assisted in loading torpedoes of this kind aboard Kobben-class submarines. The problem here is that Norway used several types of torpedoes against surface targets, and I was not a torpedo expert, but a sonar operator, so I don't remember the exact type).
Anyway, the TP612 was a line guided torpedo, based on German T1 torpedo technology (that also had been modified to a line guided torpedo).
About 1988 the TP612 was modified into TP613, a homing torpedo in addition to be line guided. The TP613 was in use until 2008.
Cheers
