I have been following data on the discovery of these Japanse Submarines and was wondering if the Germans had anything to do with their development or better yet was any information being shared and did the Germans have any plans for simuliar submarines.

The I 201 Fast attack sub was the fastest sub underwater in WWII? Is that correct?
I have also heard it could stay underwater for up to 30-days? Is that correct?
