Hi Rainer,

just for your database on U-182:

on may 15, 1943 1st Lt Earle A. Powers on a B-24D from the 2037th A/S Wing attacked in DH4265 a U-boat with 4 Mark 37 650lbs and took photos of the incident.
The german B-Dienst send this information to the BdU who asked U-182, the only submarine in the vicinity, for position the same day and the next ones. Without answer he attributed the loss of U-182 to this attack.

Given the photos it seems that U-182 had no chance to survive, but even if, she should have been severly dammaged so that it would have been very difficult to reach the the place of the attack by McKenzie, 142sm away north in DH1387, within 16 hours.

I discussed more than once this problem with Axel and he also think that probably U-182 got lost by the air attack.

but even if its not yet time to change the fate, you can already take the attack in your database
