<HTML>A mixture of apples, oranges, cherries and other fruit cut in pieces and drowned in clear or red wine is very popular within a certain boot-shaped peninsula somewhere in the Mediterranean. It is usually sipped as a dessert in the afternoon and clearly you like it, so do I :-)
It will take me some time but I will illustrate many of the soft spots of your strategical hypothesis, which are, nevertheless, interesting.
