I know I'm dredging up an old thread but I'm modeling U-371 and in my research I came across this. Unfortunately the YouTube link appears dead. I would love to see actual video of this boat.

My question however is, what is the fixture on the side of the bridge? I know the Naxos is usually mounted on the port side but what is that cabinet for? And why the gas cylinders? It appears to be mounted so far aft that it covered the starboard access and it looks as if the rungs were removed.

I'm making the assumption that this is the later Turm IV tower although you (or at least I) can't tell from the frame of the pic. That's why the video would be so helpful.
