Dear Mark,
Many thanks yet again.
The essential facts seem to be that there were 4 War Tours in the latter half of 1945. One by U-530, one by U-977, and two by U-505.
It seems that the latter visited both the East Coast and Caribbean ports - and before the other two began - but probably that all three U-Boats visited some or all of the same ports at different times.
There is therefore an understandable confusion over dates and places (ie. which U-Boat was where and when).
However, if I can get a proper "fix" on U-505's 2 Tours (which I am pretty sure were the first), then I ought to be able to get a good handle on the whole story.
So, it's still info about U-505's two Tours that I am seeking as the first priority - please.
Yours aye
Derek
