Dear Woody,
Brilliant, and well done. Wow, you don't waste time do you?
I was going to suggest that another source of information might be the City Council archives. They might, for instance, have held a City Reception, etc.
You should, by the way, also find that U-505 was escorted by the USS PCE 846 (Patrol Craft Escort) - which was later re-named USS Eunice.
If possible, the sort of information that I am seeking for my jigsaw puzzle picture of the whole War Bond Tour, are the dates of U-505's arrival and departure, as well as from whence it came and its destination on departure.
So, if you come across any of that data, I would very much appreciate your sharing it - please.
Keep taking the pills!
Yours aye
Derek
