I am not sure if the information you have is correct? Could you please let me know what sources you used as AL Turner\'s War in the Southern Ocean indicates that the u-boat was first picked up by radar and then sunk by depth charges. No ramming took place and there is some doubt as to the surfacing of the boat. One of the depth charge party claimed that the boat had been blown to the surface during the attack.
As I am currently busy with research on u-boat activity off South Africa I would appreciate any assistance.
