The U 33 under Kptlt v. Dresky entered the Firth of Clyde.
The U 21 under Kptlt Frauenheim entered the Firth of Forth. I am sure it was him who sent the signal from there saying something like \"Felson torpedoed aber nicht gesunken\". Which sent the F.d.U. staff into some sort of euphoria for a while as they thought HMS Nelson had been damaged. Eventually it came to light that the German word for Rock is Felson. He missed what ever ship he was aiming at and the torpedo exploded harmlessly against the rocky shoreline.
I have often wondered about why he sent the signal. Was it just a devilish sense of humour ?
I believe the Thames Estuary was penetrated in both wars and yes, the St Lawrence River also.
