Thanks for your essentially correct analysis.
The reason the Uboats suceeded off our coast was, they operated on the surface at night when the defence, including CAP, had no capability.
Could you join CAP's efforts to have thier WWII sevices recognized by a Congressional Gold medal just as the WASPs and several similar groups have been recognized? Please pass the request to your Senators, Represenatives and friends.
