Hello,

Looking for additional information on Oblt. Heinz-Günther Scholz of U-283.

There were a series of posts 9 years ago on the German language forum, but for whatever reason the search results are substituting a lot of odd characters or I might have attempted to translate.

It appears he died while a new commander of U-283 training with the 8th flotille. Cause of death was Suicide according to ubootwaffe.net. From the German language forum it looks like there was a ramming accident? Are the two connected?

Also, it appears he transferred from the Luftwaffe to the Ubootwaffe. Any additional info on that (i.e.; reason, experience in Luftwaffe)?
