<HTML>The wreck carries a 8,8 cm deck gun which wasn\'t carried by U 647 at the time of its loss. The wreck was located along the course line expected for U 702. Other boats operating together with U 702 reported distant detonations in the approximate direction of the wreck location. Drifting mines were frequently encountered in early April 1942. Adding all together it comes up as probably U 702. However, no one has yet recovered evidence with allows \"positive identification\".
