According to Admiralty survivors report, all survivors were picked up by a cargoship LOOE (this is the name provided by the Master of JANNA, but it does not correspond with any known merchant ship and is most probably wrong) and landed at Milford Haven on the afternoon of 14 July. The reference to lifeboats landing at Mizen Head, Ireland is erroneous. The landing of all twenty five survivors at Milford is confirmed by Western Approaches Command War Diary.

It is mentioned that the aircraft who circled the sinking ship was believed to be German, when it was indeed an RAF coastal Command aircraft. The aircraft reported to Western Approaches Command, giving the pos'n as 50-10N 11-54W (D/F bearing of U-boat at this time gave an unreliable fix at 50-40N 12-00W). This report was passed onto HMS Harvester, Wanderer & Sandwich who had just joined HX-54 as local escort.
