Hello Rainer and All,
what you described in your post was very well documented in the „Battle of the Atlantic”, which I watched again yesterday on German TV PHÖNIX, part 3. Please note the link to this show I put on a post couple of days ago on uboatnet. This part 3 will be broadcasted again today at 19:15h local:

Those type of German Uboats just didn’t have any chance against the agglomerate technique of the Allies now used to combat them no matter what fighting – experience they had gained through former patrol.
