<HTML>Oliver,
On submarine, traditionnal hatch have a diameter about 0.8 m. But, recently, for survey and evacuation of crew, NATO navies and some others built hatch with diameter of 2.0 m; to receive small rescue submarine. (Remember the TV pictures of Kursk) .
Some new submarines, about 100 to 150 meters long, have only one screw . Nuclear ones specialy. But their towers are more than 2.75 meters height.
Perhaps an old training classic submarine in duties with rescue? A lot of countries have such diesel submarines: French navy, Spanish navy, German navy and so on...Difficult. Give us more details please.
Regard\'s</HTML>
