Often the name does not give an indication of nationality. In WW1 there was a
U-boat officer by the name of Crompton and a WW2 U-boat commander was born in London, England of all places. Also in WW1 there was a German general with a Scots name and a Russian general with a German name.
Dont hold out too much hope...
