Skipjack was sunk at Dunkirk on June 1, 1940 by German bombs not mines. F. B. Proudfoot lived near Herne Bay Kent. My father (British army - survived the Skipjack sinking) spoke with F. B. Proudfoot in the 70's. There is a good book that covers the Skipjack sinking, written by Tony McCrum a survivor of the sinking and still alive Dec.2019 (100 years old). Mr. McCrum was a naval officer on board the Skipjack when she was sunk...Colin.
