Hello Jim,
We have lengthy footage of the wreck which, I assume, U of Malta will release in time. It is their call to make, I cannot provide mine without their permission. T
I do not know which footage you have seen but I have absolutely no doubt that the gun is not attached to the conning tower. From the first ROV examination, there was no doubt it was a U-class submarine. The wreck dimensions are as I mentioned in my previous message about 50 metres in length as measured by sonar as I was initially told. I see Professor Gambin recently stated 51 metres so I can accept that. The damage to the bows have still not been shown to the public but I was present and can state fairly precisely that 24-25 feet are missing (about 7-8 metres) when one compares it with drawings of U-class submarines, The collapsible antenna is fairly intact and at an angle of about 25-30 degrees (on O, P and R class it was about 45 degrees).
Best regards,
Platon
