Dear,
"Lloyd's War Losses" lists the BROMELIA as "mising or untraced", last seen homeward bound on June 22, 1942, in the position you mention (a position roughly 25sm from Icelands SW-coast).
Iceland is situated in square AE of the Kriegsmarine grid-charts and I found only U88, U173 and U376 to be present in that grid June 22, 1942. Neither mentions having observed an explosion.
"Royal Navy trawlers" by G.Toghill (Part 2), gives her as a mercantile loss.
Could you share with us the source giving her as probably sunk by a mine?
P.S. Lloyd's gives June 29, 1942, as the date she was posted missing.
