Thanks for the answers I have received to date. Lloyd's Casualties Returns has Bromelia, as missing with the position and date she was last seen. I also have Wrecksite as a source and Lloyd,s War Losses. Another source is a trawler web site "The Bosun's Watch" but they may be only quoting from the sources already mentioned. I would suspect that it is true that the sinking was witnessed, if not why mention it. I have not seen the book about Cochrane Shipbuilders.
