According to survivors reports on Uboat archive in her second patrol they state she sailed on August 16th, which is generally accepted as being on the 14th, but also mentioned that on the first night out the boat only just avoided a torpedo in a night attack. There are no details as to where or by whom, presumably by another submarine, is this incident recorded anywhere? John
