Years ago...in a book on the U.Boats...I came across a account a U boat captian
was awarded the Knights Cross for shooting down an allied plane that attacked Hermann Goerings personel train by help manning the ack-ack battery. because it was not earned at sea but on land..the award was withdrawn!
True..or just a colorful legend?
