<HTML>The text comrade Yurj kindly provided is the foreword of a book or that is one part of an articulated work about the Italian Navy Operations in WW2.
Author: Lupinacci P. F.
Subsection 9: Black Sea and Ladoga Lake Operations.
First Edition: 1972, Reprinted in 1992. 186 pages, 8 photos, 8 maps. Full Price: £ 33.000, reduced price £ 25.000.
\"In the text are described the operations of the \"midget submarines\" group, the other \"special underwater devices\", the fast torpedo boats, and the \"explosive motor-boats\"(*)
It is also described how that hardware had been ferried, by road or rail, up to Constance and the Crimea Peninsula.
The successes against Soviet surface vessels or submarines are also reported.\"
Hope this can help.
Greetings
walter M
(*)P.S. The \"explosive motor-boat\" was something the Japanese would have liked very much. Basically it was a very fast, silenced, speedboat with a huge explosive charge in front but was not a suicidal weapon. The pilot was expected to bail over at a safe distance from the target. For those who hardly can believe such a device was ever used, I suggest to go and see how HMS York and “Pericles†tanker were sunk in Suda Bay, Greece.
