thanks for the correction on the lost U.S. sub. Should not have written it from memory. Anyway, my information on the U-boat discovery comes from contemporary newpaper clippings and some sercondary books on topics like the Bermuda triangle which mentioned the incident as a side information. The fact that it was published openly in the media here in Europe led me to the believe that the simple discovery was at least considered unclassified. However, the information given by Al might give the right direction. However, perhaps the attitude of the navy towards this point has changed after the end of the cold war.
