In particular reference to HMS Upmost, N.19, lost in Mediterranean Sea 25 November, 1942, Lt. Coombe RN (Captain). All hands lost.
On 13 September, 1941, she was commanded by Lt. Cdr. Cayley DSO RN, when she rescued three downed airmen, which I am specifically researching.
When the boat turned into Malta at the end of each patrol, did all the crew (maybe the odd exception) swop over to a completely new crew or would it just be the captain who would go ashore.
Just trying to work out if the lost crew would be the same ones who rescued my airmen or would they be a completely different crew.
