During World War II there were three vessels, with the name DIANA sunk.
A) DIANA 1190/1901, ex Greek MAID OF SAMOS, as German DIANA scuttled at Marseille Aug 44,
cool smiley DIANA 1383/1903 ex Greek MAIRI DEFTEREOU, became Italian GENOVA and than German DIANA, Torpedoed and sunk British S/M UNTIRING 12 Apr 44 5mls S of Oneglia.
C) DIANA 3347/1923 Italian seized by Germans Sep 43, Torpedoed by unknown, ans damaged, off Pola, towed into Trieste an scuttled Apr 44, R&R47.
There would seem to be some confusion, in difference sources, which vessel was which. Rohwer's "Allied Submarine Attacks of World War Two" has ship A as being torpedoed by UNTIRING.
Can anybody confirm the fates of these three vessels, please.
