Hello,
This past week, divers led by Professor Timmy Gambin from the University of Malta positively identified the submarine wreck found in 2019 off Malta as that of HMS Urge.

The name can clearly be seen on the port side of the conning tower of the submarine. This had not been picked up by the ROV in 2019 as only the starboard side had been examined and letters could barely been due to severe deterioration signs. However, we had little doubts as to the identity of the submarine as no other missing submarines were known to have used at the time of their loss, the North East Searched Channel where it was found and this confirmed our findings.
The dives were difficult because of the depth (115 metres) and this again confirmed that she was lost on the German MT 13 minefield laid by the 3rd Schnellbootflottille on 20 April as previously stated.
Proponents of the story that she was lost at Ras Hilal (Libya) can peddle their conspiracy theories elsewhere.
