What would have happened to the seamen on U-215?

Hello! For those who don't know, U-215 was a Type VIID minelayer that was sank about 150 miles from Nova Scotia, just inside Canadian waters. When the wreckage was found, no noticeable damage to the seal hull or hatches were seen, meaning that the seal was presumably intact, leaving the 49 soldiers onboard to suffocate rather than drown. How long would they have lasted? My own research so far says that they had 14 hours of breathable air under normal circumstances. I assume that after initial panic of being sunk, officers would have ordered nonessential personel to their bunks, giving more time. What are your estimates and theories about what happened aboard and how long the men lasted? Thank you in advance.
